TECHNIQUES
Cross-hatching involves drawing a set of parallel lines (hatching) and then drawing another set of parallel lines above it in another direction.
Scumbling technique involves drawing continuous circular patterns without lifting your pencil. It is mostly used to draw trees.
Stippling involves placing lots of dots on your
paper. For a dense look dots can be close
together and for a lighter look dots can be far
apart. Stippling can be used to add texture.
Burnishing involves layers of coloured pencil overlaid with strong pressure so that the tooth of the paper is filled and a smooth surface results
